The Red Devil defense showed no mercy and the defensive line applied continuous pressure throughout the first half, forcing errors by McCutcheon’s offense. With about a minute remaining in the first quarter, linebacker Alan Salazar intercepted a pass and ran it back for another Red Devil touchdown. The Red Devil special teams was busy throughout the game, and Ira Dobson made it challenging for any McCutcheon positive movement, as he made multiple tackles on the many kickoffs. Alan Salazar and Haylen Vazquez were relentless against the McCutcheon running attack, and the Red Devil defensive line (Ira Dobson, Elijah Martin, and Blaine Myles) had multiple sacks and tackles for loss. The Red Devil secondary also came up big, and with 3 ½ minutes left in the first half, Max Smosna stalled a McCutcheon drive with yet another interception. And as the first half came to an end, quarterback Max Smosna hit Jack Grove with a great pass leading to a 24 yard touchdown, allowing the Red Devils to go into halftime with a 18-6 lead. The offensive line created a comfortable pocket for Smosna, who found Braylon Crisp on yet another of their many connections. Crisp raced to the endzone, and Chase Zhou completed the two point conversion, putting the Red Devils ahead 26-14 with only the 4thquarter in front of them. As Smosna was assisted off the field following an injury late in the game, Andrew Pfeiffer stepped into his old role as quarterback. The Red Devils walked off the field victoriously, with the final score being 32-22.
